Nissan Motors known for its elite class technology introduced yet another Sedan “SUNNY” for the Indian Auto market yesterday 20th September, 2011. The company launched Sunny in the petrol model only and claims to introduce its diesel variant during the 2012 January Auto Expo in New Delhi. Nissan Sunny’s price begins at Rs 5.78 lacs for the base variant and goes up to Rs. 7.68 lacs thus, confronting boldly with other sedans.
The Sunny catches the eye with well-sculpted exterior with perfection and it is based on Nissan Micra’s platform packed with a 1.5 liter-4 cylinder petrol engine that develops top power of 97 bhp at 6000 rpm and 134 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
The exterior of Nissan Sunny looks aggressive with larger headlamps, smiling chrome grille, separate fog lamp cluster and lower air intake. Sunny bears a sports car like body color rear view mirrors and bumper. The Sunny comes in six color variants: Bronze Grey, Blade silver, Storm White, Sapphire Blue, Onyx black and Brick Red.
The interiors of Sunny have made it stylish and spacious too. You can cross your legs comfortably even when the front seats are pushed back completely and the boot space offers a healthy 490 liters of luggage room with looking bulky. The instrument panel, music system and A/C vents are on the centre console and dashboard has granite-hard surfaces and. The music system is basic, sans USB or Bluetooth support. It also have manual HVAC/ automatic climate control system, power windows, glove box, keyless entry system, push button start/stop system just as the Nissan Micra.
Nissan Sunny also considers the safety of the passengers and features ABS+EBD+BA system, Engine Immobilizer, Driver Airbag, Front Passenger Airbag, Door Ajar Warning and Speed Sensing Auto Door Lock depending upon which variant you choose.
