The petrol variants of new Hyundai i20 carry the 1.2 Kappa petrol engine and now have dual variable valve timing which delivers a power of 84 PS, a good 4 PS more than the i20 petrol engine. The automatic petrol variant of iGen i20 delivers a power of 100PS and 136Nm of torque. In the base diesel variant you get a power output of 90 PS while the automatic variant gives a power output of 100 PS, which is the same as its predecessor i20. But the Hyundai iGen gets a 6-speed unit instead of the 5-speed one.
The economy claim of Hyundai for iGen i20 is also a pretty decent one with 18.5 kmpl for 1.2 petrol, 21.9 kmpl for 1.4 diesel engines.
The new i20 from Hyundai, iGen i20 gets a heavy facelift with the incorporation of Hyundai’s popular “fluidic design” elements. The new Hyundai iGen i20 has modified headlights, taillights, bumpers and a re-sculpted bonnet. It has got new eight spoke alloys, ORVM mounted turn blinkers and has included automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers and reverse camera for the higher variants.
The other notable features of the new Hyundai i20 include a camera guided parking system, electro-chromic mirror, keyless entry and go and a new audio system. It has host of new safety features such as all four disc brakes with ABS, 6 airbags, clutch lock system and a smart pedal system.
All in all, Hyundai’s new release is all set to hit the Indian roads and lure the Indian customers with fantastic fluidic design features, fine tuned engines to give excellent performance, superb interiors and great safety features. New version of Hyundai i20, the iGen i20 will surely give a tough competition to other cars in this segment.
