The world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles, Japan’s Honda Motor Co. Ltd has launched its budget bike ‘Dream Yuga’ in a glittering inaugural function held in New Delhi on Tuesday for the Indian Market. Honda’s Dream Yuga is a low cost bike in the 100-110 cc segment and is priced at Rs. 44, 642 (ex-showroom Delhi).
As according to Keita Muramatsu, president of Honda Motorycle & Scooter India (HMSI), “The motorcycle is Honda’s cheapest worldwide”. Akshay Kumar, the famous Bollywood actor, would be the brand ambassador for the company in India.
Honda’s Dream Yuga which is a 110cc bike has been targeted as a mass-segment commuter bike for the price sensitive Indian market. Dream Yuga is a 4-stroke motorcycle with a decent styling and is expected to give a great mileage of 72 kmpl. Dream Yuga would be available in both self-start and kick-start variants.
Honda’s Dream Yuga has been loaded with many powerful and attractive features such as aerodynamic front cowl, refined 110cc engine which has Honda Intelligent Ignition Control System to give you easy and smooth acceleration, 120mm long front suspension stroke to absorb jerks effectively, new age tubeless tyres, long seat, 94mm long 5-step adjustable rear suspension and many other features as well. Presently it would be available in five different colors.
As a matter of fact, Commuter bikes have a share of approximately 70 percent in India’s Motorcycle market. With the introduction of ‘Dream Yuga’ Honda is looking to increase its share in the sales of Commuter bikes though it is the largest seller of scooters in the Indian market. Presently, Honda has a share of 13% in the Indian two-wheeler market.
Also, Honda has ambitious plans for the future as it aims to increase its share in the Indian two-wheeler market. The Japanese company is going to pump in a fresh investment of 20 billion Rupees as it has planned to construct its third factory for manufacturing two-wheelers in India. Thereby Honda’s overall production capacity in India would reach a figure of four million units a year by the first half of 2013.
So, with fabulous features coupled with budget pricing for Dream Yuga, Honda is all set to target the commuter segment in the Indian motorcycle market. Honda’s Dream Yuga definitely has the potential to become the dream bike for everyone.
