There is a requirement of large number of teachers across the country under the act of right to Children of free and compulsory education. Central Board of secondary Education (CBSE) has announced Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for the recruitment of Teachers at elementary schools located all over India. Eligible candidates have to apply through online form 01-11-2011 to 25-11-2011. The exam will be held on 29.01.2012 (Sunday). The cost of the application form for General/OBC candidates is Rs.500/- and for SC/ST/Differently abled candidates is Rs.250/.
After qualifying CTET exam you can teach in the schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT of Chandigarh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET. Moreover, Schools owned and managed by the State government/local bodies and aided schools shall also consider the TET conducted by the State Government.
Eligibility: There are two eligibility conditions for the candidates who want apply for the test. They are:
(i) For Teaching from class 1-V:
The minimum qualification required is the certificate of Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
(ii) For Teaching class VI-VIII:
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary
Education (by whatever name known) OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
There are two ways either you can apply for the CTET exam online or you can submit the application on prescribed form which can be obtained from the Syndicate bank.
Online Method:
Click the given link http://ctet.nic.in/online/ApplicationForm.aspx and fill in the details of the online form and take the print out of the computer generated Application. After the successful submission of data and paying the application fees via debit/credit card or Demand Draft in favor of the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi send the form to the provided address.
Offline Method
Candidates can buy the information Bulletin containing Application Form personally from the Designated Branches of syndicate Bank & Institutions specified against cash payment and can send the completely filled form to the provided address.
Pattern of Examination
The examination will be of objective type multiple choice question with no negative marking. There will be 2 papers of CTET.
(i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Candidate who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
